Autumn 2025 Reading Period: Now until December 31

Rejection is the nemesis here. VerseVarmint: a Literary Zine eagerly seeks to help discouraged writers achieve publication. We originally planned to include the following guideline (but changed our mind):

• All writers in any category should have a history of 3 or more rejections. This process will operate under the honor system. You do not need to disclose which publications have previously declined your work.

• That tiny, hard to see handwritten bit reads: We will automatically decline work that contains discriminatory elements (language/themes/imagery, etc.) regarding any humans
• Plagiarized and/or AI-generated content will not be accepted under any circumstances. We will be watching for and checking for such material.

• Same guidelines apply regarding NO AI generated work

• Same guidelines apply regarding this zine being a SAFE SPACE.
